4. Why only guarantee "top 10" and not "number 1"?
While there is nothing wrong with reaching for the stars as a long-term strategy (a top 3 position can account for up to 50% of the traffic for a keyword), it would not be realistic or honest to guarantee number 1.
Why? Well there are a number of reasons for this. "Organic Results" are exactly that - organic. The results are affected by immensely complex algorithms that are constantly being tweaked and refined by the search engines. Results vary immensely depending on other variables such as where the person is geographically, what time they search and if they are logged into their Google account.
We could probably guarantee number 1 for very long-tail keywords; for example "the very best plumbing services in basingstoke", but these are pointless keywords because of the number of people who would ever type this as a search for a plumber.
While getting to Page1 with the right SEO methods can be relatively quick (3-6 months); to get to the top 3 or even number 1 can take much longer. This is because the guys at the top of Page 1 will also be doing their own SEO, and have been doing so for longer than you have. Google weights results on many factors, one of which is domain history - the longer you have been at the top, the more trusted you are.
If you aren't happy with the progress you are making with your mi|seo campaign; you can cancel at any time. Generally this doesn't happen as once our client's reach page 1, the effect on their business can be immense, so naturally they want to reinvest their profits back into getting to the top three, and then fighting for number 1.
