background:
With the property market falling down, people are turning to ingenious methods to sell their properties. By creating a competition where people pay to enter, they can get their asking price for the property and then give the property (with all legal fees paid) away to one lucky winner.
challenge:
An easy to use system with the minimum number of barriers was required to optimise the conversation rate of users hitting the site, selecting appropriate answers / positions and completing the payment stages.
solution: Create a streamlined process which guided users of all abilities through the various stages associated with the competition. Providing full error checking of details and ensuring confirmation emails were sent out upon completion of registrations / users entering the competition. This was done by:
• Minimising number of clicks required to complete process
• Using trusted payment gateways (PayPal and Google Checkouts in this case)
• Email confirmation
• Ability to create gifts as paid for entries to the competition
• Create a site that the client could easily keep updated and keep looking interesting
• Add news feeds so organisers could keep everyone informed of progress
